"2009 is my Year of Transition."
Looks like you are no longer sponsered by
Naish, no longer one of "Robbys Angels"... How come?
Anne Marie: Yes, that's true. I am not sponsored by Naish any more,
but by Starboard. How come? Life is movement and opportunities come
along. I decided to take this opportunity to ride for
Starboard.
Will you still have a windsurfing sponsor in the future,
too?
Yes, off course! I also signed with Starboard windsurfing.
Concerning sails it's still uncertain what is going to happen, but
I am sure something will happen. 2009 is my year of transition.
Some transitions take longer than other ones, and that is ok. Good
things take a while (translated from a Dutch expression).

Will you focus on SUP in the future?
My focus for 2009 is to represent the lifestyle, inspire other
girls and people in how they can live their dream. At the same time
I am very busy living my own dream. I am living my dream with my
SUP events, my windsurfing and surfing combined with yoga,
creativity etc. Being the best I can be in everything I do and
stand for. Travels and clinics herein I document with
video/pictures. My website with a blog is on the way as well.
Finally! Haha.. Also for this year, I will make about 6 podcasts
for Roxy. A new way to shine a creative light on my life that shows
me an interesting world and many waves.
Guess you quit competing in windsurfing...
After almost 10 years of competing, I feel that that competition
edge is not my priority anymore. I am stoked to push myself out
there in the waves, and that is not depending on competing for me.
There are many waves and countries I haven't seen yet, and that
'calling' is stronger now. Plus: SUP has given me some new
challenges and opportunities that I enjoy a lot and that I
naturally devote a lot of my time to. It just happened that way and
I enjoy the ride, go with that flow. But you never know... I might
show up to an event.
