Dolphins are of course very special animals, but most of us do not have the opportunity to share experiences like those you have. Please tell us a little bit more about this beautiful and intelligent inhabitants of the sea from your perspective!
These are very special animals, but sometimes I think people forget they are still animals.They fight and play with each other like any other animals. There are very very curious and always interested to learn new things, it even makes them exited sometimes. Every dolphin has his or her own character and the longer you work with them the more you start to love them.
How did it happen that you started to work with dolphins and obviously made this your profession?
I went to have a look at dolphin academy, because I heard they needed more trainers and had a talk with one of the managers. Before I knew it I passed my probation time and became an Assistent dolphin trainer.
In just one sentence: What is working with dolphins all about? What does it mean to you?
Working with the dolphins is such a wonderful experience and I enjoy every second with them.
One of your World of Windgirls photos is really awesome! Can you describe how you and your animal partner do this trick and how long it takes to learn this "move"?
To do this trick the dolphin pushes your foot, first he pushes your forward then you dive underwater and up again and when you are at your highest point in the air you do a back flip. It isn't very difficult if you can do a back flip from a cliff and have good balance.
Time flies... If you look at your "old" profile at www.windgirls.com : What has changed since in windsurfing?
That the pro's are getting younger and younger...haha and the level of windsurfing has been going up so fast!
